The Panini sticker album caught the attention of soccer fans in the U.S. in force leading up to the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Soccer players, soccer fans, and soccer parents quickly became collector’s working (desperately in some case) to find all 639 stickers and fill their album.
In the lead up to next summer’s World Cup, Panini has released a new officially licensed collector’s sticker album, Road to 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia. The album is much more manageable with only 480 stickers.
The album features 30 teams with 16 player stickers for each team. The teams included in the Panini Road to 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia are Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, England, Spain, France, Germany, Greece, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Switzerland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Wales, Argentina, Bolivia, Brasil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Venezuela, Mexico, Australia, Algeria, and New Zealand.
Each team page (over 2 pages) includes the team badge, FIFA ranking, number of World Cups the team has participated, and number of World Cup titles won.
There is not a team sticker for each team and the stickers are slightly larger than for the 2014 World Cup album. The player stickers include the player’s name, year of birth, year of national team debut, position (with color coded marker, and club team.
Unlike the 2014 World Cup Panini book, the 2018 Road to Russia book does not include stickers for the stadia or other collectible stickers (like the googly eyes). It does include pages promoting the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup, Zabivaka, the 2018 FIFA World Cup mascot, and the qualifying process.
The collector’s book includes 10 starter stickers. And it is possible for collector’s to log on to www.paninigroup.com to create a personalized sticker for your book.
In addition to World Soccer Shop, Road to World Cup sticker packets are available at Target, Walmart, and other national retailers.
The Panini Road to 2018 World Cup Russia is fun for the entire family.
