Welcome to the next edition of the Nike Mercurial – The Dream Speed. With the new boots, Nike have quite literally laid down the blueprint for accelerating past the opposition. Their design is lightly based off a blueprint, using color tones along with fonts and symbols reminiscent of the schematic. The Nike swoosh stretches, brightens and blurs as it races down the upper – along it reads “10A>73P,” which represents the color codes for the shades represented on the cleat. The “44.7 kmph” text on the instep is meant to represent the dream speed for any sprinter, and finally the “001” logo calls out the very first edition of the Nike Dream Speed. It’s everything you love about the Mercurial, but coated in race-ready aerodynamics.
• Academy: Nike’s mid-range cleat build, making the best use of materials, weight and technology possible while remaining at an economic price point • Turf: Designed for play on short, carpet-like turf. Consisting of shorter, more numerous studs, this build is designed to spread out tension and pressure among the many studs, lessening foot and knee injury when playing on this surface • The first model in the new Dream Speed line, worn by Kylian Mbappe, Cristiano Ronaldo and Sam Kerr • Designed as the blueprint for speed – featuring text reading out color codes, speed measurements and a “001” print signifying the first in the Dream Speed line • Nike Flywire and Flyknit combination on the upper for a tight and comfortable fit • NIKESKIN: Extra thin synthetic material for close control
