The beautiful game’s been a part of me for as long as I can remember. Not only is it a part of my everyday style, but it also taught me the discipline and the composure I carry myself with today. As a 7th grader upon moving to a town that failed to recognize soccer at the club, middle, or high school level I was shocked and found myself becoming the 1st kid to establish, coach, and captain the club I would go on to successfully play in until graduation. Rounding up a starting 11 didn’t take long and once the school got word, the news spread like wildfire. 13 year old me consisted of league meetings, CPR training, and the dining table of local restaurants seeking sponsorships with a binder full of park permits, player credentials, our story, and of course, afternoons on the pitch making memories that will last a lifetime. No matter where you go, the beautiful game unites. It’s the only language that’s fluent across the world. It’s passion is in my DNA.
